Madginford Primary School raised £921.52 on a “Wear something blue day
With the help of friends I have produced a song called “Mend” … please watch the video via YouTube, which links to our very special JustGiving page.
With the help of Robin Fuller and his family and friends, a group called “The Wevet Menders” was formed and they have written and performed a song which we hope will inspire you to help us raise £10,000 to fund further research into this terminal condition.
So far, we have raised about £4,000.00, my youngest daughter who lives in Australia also raised an incredible $1,984.00 for MND QLD.
I was talking to Robin on how could I write a song for MNDA, (I had no idea) lucky enough Robin said I’ll do a song for you and so “Wevet Menders” was born.
Robin wrote the words put it to music, got his family and friends involved, we have “Poppy – Fiddle”, “Holly – Cello”, “John – Guitar”, “Gabbi – Bass Guitar” and “Jess – Bodhran, Irish Drum” with Robin singing.
Where does the name “Wevet Menders” come from and why pick this name, think of your brain has a Spiders Web, which sadly for those who have Motor Neurone Disease, slowly fails, a person losses control of their ability to talk, eat, walk and do the everyday things that we all take for granted. Wevet is a Dorset word for a Spider’s web how appropriate is that.
An excellent evening was had by all, raised £1,115.00 on the night, since Lynn passed-away just under £4,000.00, thanks to family & friends for their support in giving to Mid Kent MNDA

This way you have to go through Maidstone Town centre (A229) on a Saturday Evening and your sat nav may take you along very small country lanes … if you do choose this route head for the “HEATH ROAD – LINTON HILL …. turn Left into Heath Road (B2163) …. set of traffic lights you will see the Village Hall on the left.
So for my money I would go via J8 Leeds Castle … just two/three minutes more

Motor Neurone Disease Association receives PhD funding …
Kent student Sam Bryce-Smith has been awarded a prestigious PhD Studentship. This PhD studentship aims to nurture young researchers who wish to pursue a career in MND research, from the “Masonic Charitable Foundation”
Sam’s project will explore two proteins (TDP-43 and FUS) that are associated with MND and are involved in processing molecules called messenger RNA (the molecule that provides the information for the DNA to make the protein).
